AAA Editor Notes
Mark Twain Study, on the Elmira College campus at 1 Park Pl., is an octagonal building resembling a Mississippi riverboat pilothouse. A gift from Clemens' sister-in-law, the study once overlooked the city from atop East Hill. It was here that Twain wrote “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court,” and other celebrated works of American literature.

A presentation is given in the study. Visitors also may see an exhibit dedicated to Mark Twain in the adjacent Cowles Hall, which holds an expansive collection of photos of Quarry Farm and the Langdon Mansion as well as Twain family memorabilia.
