It doesn't get much more authentic than this Broadway steakhouse. Spend some time here over a well-priced streak and you'll know the soul of the city.
AAA Inspector Notes
Classic. A New York landmark since 1927, Gallagher's displays its trademark dry-aged Prime beef at the entrance. The years melt away as you enter a large wood-paneled front room dominated by photos of the famous and a specularly carved wooden bar. The menu features all the old standards. But the décor has some sizzle—dining areas sport firehouse red leather banquettes to keep things vibrant and in the present day. Waiters are sharp and wonderfully New York in their wit, insight and demeanor.
