AAA Editor Notes
Juárez House Museum (Museo Casa de Juárez) is about 6 blks. n. of Plaza Principal at Calle Manuel García Vigil #609. This 19th-century colonial home was once owned by Padre Antonio Salanueva. The Salanuevas brought a young Oaxaqueño, Benito Juárez, from the village of Guelatao to live with them; Juárez's resulting education was the springboard for his careers in law and politics. The house is furnished to reflect a typical Oaxacan middle class lifestyle in the 19th century.
