Yagul Ruins are about 2.75 km (1.7 mi.) e. of town on Mex. 190 (Km marker 35.5), then 2 km (1.2 mi.) n. of Mex. 190 via a paved road; watch for the signed turn-off. The ruins, which cover the base and side of a large hill, consist of the Triple Tombs (Tumbas Triples), four patios (one a complex of six separate patios), the Room of Consultations and the Palace of Creatures. Dramatic face carvings guard the entrances to the tombs. The ball court here is large and in excellent condition. A marked path leads to the top of the hill; climb it for views that take in the valley and surrounding mountains.
