Cleveland Museum of Art is at 11150 East Blvd. in University Circle. This renowned museum's collection encompasses 6,000 years of history with more than 45,000 works of art. Some of the thousands of artists represented in the more than 40 galleries include Caravaggio, Edgar Degas, El Greco, Childe Hassam, Hans Holbein, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt, Pierre Auguste Renoir and Benjamin West.

The second floor of the neoclassical 1916 building includes 17th- through 19th-century European art and 18th- and 19th-century American art as well as the Armor Court, a collection of European arms and armor from the 15th- through 18th centuries. The Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Near East, Classical Greek and Roman, Early Christian and Byzantine, Medieval, Sub-Saharan African, prints and drawings collections also are on view in the historical building. The East Wing includes additional European art as well as photography, contemporary art, Cleveland art and American modern art.

The North Wing houses art of the Americas, textiles and Japanese and Korean art. The West Wing features Chinese, Indian and Southeast Asian art. The Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Near East, Classical Greek and Roman, Early Christian and Byzantine, Medieval, Sub-Saharan African, prints and drawings collections also are on view. Ingalls Library has a noncirculating art research collection. The Atrium serves as the centerpiece of the museum with a large courtyard and soaring glass canopy.

Note: Non-flash photography is permitted except for works in special exhibitions, art on loan, and works from 1900 to the present.
