AAA Editor Notes
Patterson Homestead Museum is at 1815 Brown St. The home was built in the early 1800s by Col. Robert Patterson, Revolutionary War hero and founder of Lexington, Ky. The family lived on the site 1804-1904, and Patterson's son Jefferson had an addition built in 1850. He and his wife raised nine children here, two of whom later founded The National Cash Register Co. (NCR) in 1884.

The house contains portraits and family memorabilia along with 18th- and early 19th-century furnishings. Several heirloom flower gardens provide seasonal foliage around the property.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
