Hubbard House Underground Railroad Museum is at jct. Walnut Blvd. and Lake Ave. The 1840s brick house was an important stop on the Underground Railroad, the network of abolitionist-run safe houses that helped slaves escape to freedom before the Civil War. Fugitive slaves waited in the house until a ship arrived to take them to Canada. The house, furnished in period, contains exhibits relating to the Underground Railroad, the Civil War and local history.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
