Fort Laurens is .5 mi. w. of jct. I-77 and SR 212. This 81-acre park was the site of the only U.S. military fort in Ohio during the American Revolution. A museum includes displays about the Siege of Fort Laurens. The remains of the soldiers who died defending the fort are buried in a crypt in the museum wall and at the Tomb of the Unknown Patriot of the American Revolution. Fort Laurens is the trailhead for the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail.
