Slate Run Living Historical Farm is at 1375 Winchester Southern Rd. (SR 674N). This 1880s working farm includes restored buildings and employs the methods of the late 19th century. A self-guiding tour allows visitors to see farm routines that change with the seasons. Work may include planting or harvesting; making cider, soap or toys; and such daily chores as sewing, cooking and milking.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 9-4 (also Fri.-Sat. 4-6), Sun. 11-6, June-Aug.; Tues.-Sat. 9-4, Sun. 11-4 Apr.-May and Sept.-Oct.; Wed.-Sat. 9-4, Sun. 11-4, rest of year. Activities are reduced and some buildings may be closed Jan.-Mar.; phone to confirm. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
