First Ladies National Historic Site is at 205 and 331 Market Ave. S. Memorabilia and personal effects of First Lady Ida Saxton McKinley can be seen in the carefully restored Saxton McKinley House.

The Education and Research Center, at 205 Market Ave. S., contains a research library, exhibits and a small theater. Through changing exhibits, the museum highlights the roles of the First Lady—from director of social affairs to Presidential liaison, policy advocate, political reformer and keeper of “the people's house”—and details achievements and the manner in which each interpreted and personalized her role.

Guided tours of the site, which begin at the Education and Research Center, are led by volunteer docents. Tour size is limited.
