This hotel is in a beautifully renovated brick building (note the stained glass windows in the lobby). The Phelps Bar, on the rooftop, is an excellent place for a summer view of downtown Cincinnati. Though the hotel is downtown and near I-71, you'll find the courtyard is a quiet little nook with a fountain and a gas grill. The hotel is located in a charming old neighborhood (Lytle Park Historic District) near the Taft Museum of Art. Directly across the street is a small park graced by a large statue of Abraham Lincoln. One can walk to downtown and (in good weather) to the Cincinnati Reds Stadium. Monday through Wednesday, the hotel has a manager's reception.
Smoke free premises. 134 units, some two bedrooms, efficiencies and kitchens. 12 stories, interior corridors.
Pros: I am a breakfast person AND their's was delicious!!
Cons: Social hour's weren't posted
Pros: Very good beds and for a city centre a quiet location. The rooftop bar provides an excellent Vista.
Pros: The location to the places we wanted to see were within walking distance
Pros: Staff was very friendly. All of them. Helpful too.
Cons: The only complaint was the heater fan was very loud. We shut it off to sleep.
Pros: My husband and I wanted to catch a Reds game, so we decided to just make it a weekend getaway. We got into the room, and I was very surprised at how large it was. It's certainly a room you can stay several days in and not feel cramped. I was extremely pleased with the cleanliness and the amenities in the room. We made the comment several times that we could not hear any hallway noise in our room our whole stay. The staff was extremely pleasant as well. I would highly recommend this hotel!
Cons: The valet parking was a little steep at $28 a day. The valets were amazing though. Extremely nice and very courteous.
Pros: If you are traveling with pets, there is NOT a better place to stay. Great courtyard in the back for you pet to roam, plus a wonderful park right across the street. Very little traffic on the street makes it great. Plus the staff LOVES dogs and are all so friendly. Great bar and location tott.
Pros: The room was great and the bed very comfortable.
Cons: Lack of breakfast selections for the buffet.
Pros: location and helpfulness of staff
Cons: lack of parking
family with young children
Pros: Every thing
Cons: Parking is the only concern at this part of the city
Cons: Billing issues
family with older children
Pros: The rooms were big and the kitchen facilities gives us the options of cooking a simple dinner instead of eating out every meal. Breakfast spread was excellent. All the staffs were friendly and helpful. Will definately stay there again in my next visit to Cincinnati.
Cons: Guess with cars should be allowed to park and take our cars out ourselves and not depend on the valet operators
