Roscoe Village is on SRs 16 and 83 at jct. US 36. The restored 1830s Ohio & Erie Canal town has restaurants and quaint shops. The Living History Tour includes period artisans and hands-on activities. Also on the property are the mile-long foot and bicycle Towpath trail and Lake Park, a recreational complex. Horse-drawn canal boat rides are offered. The Exhibit Hall features a lock model showing how the locks work. Also in the hall is a gristmill and weaving and coopering exhibits as well as dioramas depicting the digging of the canal. A theater features the 15-minute “Ditches of Destiny” video. Many annual festivals and special events are held throughout the year. Guided tours are available. Recreational activities are permitted. Food is available.
Living History Tour $9.95; $4.95 (students with ID). Exhibit hall $4; $3 (students with ID). Canal boat ride $8, $6 (students with ID).
Hours: Visitor center open Mon.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-5, Apr.-Dec. Ticket office open Mon.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-5, Apr.-Dec.; daily noon-4, rest of year. Living History Tours depart 10-4, Memorial Day-Labor Day; at 1, Apr. 1-day before Memorial Day and day after Labor Day-Dec. 31. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
