Dayton Art Institute is at 456 Belmonte Park N. African, American, Ancient, Asian, European, Native American, Oceanic and Pre-Columbian art galleries as well as a glass gallery are housed in a 1930 Italian Renaissance building. Works include paintings, prints, drawings and photography; the collection also features furniture and decorative art. Several outdoor sculptures are on the grounds. The Experiencecenter, a participatory family center, presents thematic shows and exhibits. Temporary exhibits and special events are held throughout the year. Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
$8; $5 (ages 60+); free (ages 0-17 and students with ID).
Hours: Wed.-Sat. 11-5, (also Thurs. 5-8), Sun. noon-5. Guided tours are available by reservation. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
