I enjoy the atmosphere of this brewpub. With its wooden barrels and open-hearth fireplace, it is a recreation of a 19th century brewery.
AAA Inspector Notes
Take a trip back in time to the Dayton of 1850; this brewery is part of a technology-history park. Enjoy the house-brewed beers and such hearty foods as sauerkraut balls, grilled bratwurst and herb-roasted chicken while watching the staff, attired in period costumes, brew beer. The house-brewed beers are done in an antique style with a sour flavor distinctly different from most contemporary beverages. Review the list of "temperance drinks"; there is a house root beer. This handsome redbrick building, accented with gas lights, houses a re-created brewery with copper kettles and wooden barrels. An aroma of hops and wood smoke adds a tang to the air of the lofty two-story dining room. A more modern element is the availability of Wi-Fi.
