Fort Recovery Museum and Monument is at 1 Fort Site St. The 9-acre site is where Gen. Arthur St. Clair was defeated by Miami Indians in 1791 and where Gen. Anthony Wayne claimed victory over 2,000 Native Americans in 1794. Museum displays depict the battles and contain artifacts from prehistoric times. The reconstructed fort contains two blockhouses and a connecting stockade. A monument honoring those who fought stands five blocks east at SRs 49 and 119 (Butler St.). Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$5; $2 (ages 6-12).
Hours: Museum open daily noon-5, June-Aug.; Sat.-Sun. noon-5 in May and Sept. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
