Rutherford B. Hayes Library and Museums is at 1337 Hayes Ave. on the 25-acre grounds of Spiegel Grove. This is the former estate of 19th U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes and First Lady Lucy Webb Hayes. The site includes the couple's recently restored 31-room mansion, the first official presidential library, a museum, paved walking trails and President Hayes' tomb. The iron gates at the entrances to the site were at the White House during the Hayes administration. The collections include family mementos and the public and private papers and books of the president and his family as well as local history items and genealogical material.
Museum or mansion $7.50; $6.50 (ages 60+); $3 (ages 6-12). Combination ticket to museum and mansion $13; $12 (ages 60+); $5 (ages 6-12). Library free. Rates may vary; phone ahead.
