Lake Metroparks Farmpark is 4.5 mi. s. of I-90 on SR 306 to SR 6, then 1 mi. e. at 8800 Euclid Chardon Rd. This 235-acre park is a science and educational center dedicated to explaining how farmers raise food, fiber and other agricultural products that sustain and enhance human life. Visitors can milk a cow, take a wagon ride, watch border collies skillfully herding, meet more than 50 breeds of farm animals and on weekends watch an ice cream production demonstration. Visitors can explore plant life in The Great Tomato Works and Hydroponics exhibits, established orchards, vineyards, themed gardens and field crops areas. Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power are explored and explained. Seasonal activities include maple sugaring and cider pressing. A corn maze is open mid-August to early October. Vintage Ohio Wine Festival takes place in early August. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
$6; $5 (ages 60+); $4 (ages 2-11); free (active military with ID). Separate admission charged for special events.
