Ohio River Museum and the W.P. Snyder Jr. are at Washington, Front and St. Clair sts., 1 blk. w. of the Campus Martius Museum. The museum displays steamboat-era items, including scale models of late 19th-century riverboats, paintings, photographs and steam whistles. The theater presents a 10-minute film about the history of transportation on the Ohio and Muskingum rivers. The W.P. Snyder Jr., moored alongside the museum, is the last steam-powered, stern-wheeled towboat of its type in America; guided tours are available. Guided tours are available.
$7; $4 (students with ID). Combination ticket with Campus Martius Museum $9; $5 (students with ID).
Hours: Mon. and Wed.-Sat. 9:30-5, Sun. (also Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day) noon-5, Apr. 1-Labor Day; Sat. 9:30-5, Sun. noon-5, first weekend after Labor Day-Oct. 31. Last tour of the towboat begins 1 hour before closing. Towboat tours also are available by appointment, rest of year. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
