Big Bottom Memorial Park is 1 mi. s.e. on SR 266. The monument marks the site of a surprise raid of settlers by Native Americans on Jan. 2, 1791. A marble obelisk commemorates the 3-acre site on the Muskingum River where 14 settlers were killed. Picnicking is permitted.
