David Warther Carvings is at 1775 SR 39. The site is the workshop of David Warther and features his collection of more than 80 miniature ship carvings made from antique ivory and ebony wood. The pieces depict designs since 3000 B.C., and Warther intends to finish the project when he reaches 100 pieces; his collection is up to vessels representative of the early 1900s. The maritime artist was inspired by his grandfather, Ernest Warther, who dedicated years to carving ivory and wooden trains.
The property features a 30-foot-tall clock tower and observation deck offering views of the surrounding Amish country.
