The Toledo Museum of Art is at 2445 Monroe St., 1 blk. e. of I-75. This Grecian-style marble structure contains works tracing the history of art from ancient Egypt to the present. Among its more than 30,000 works of art are paintings and sculptures by such artists as Alexander Calder, Edgar Degas, El Greco, Paul Gauguin, Hans Holbein, Anselm Kiefer, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Rembrandt, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Peter Paul Rubens and Vincent van Gogh as well as African and Asian works.

Also featured are books, manuscripts, prints, sculpture, medieval ivories, glass items, decorative arts objects and tapestries. A glass collection chronicles the history of glass over the course of 3,500 years.
