Wayne County Historical Museum is at 546 E. Bowman St. (SR 585). The Kister Building displays changing exhibits of Native American artifacts; farm implements; animal taxidermy; and carriages, sleighs and fire vehicles dating from 1830-1935. On the grounds are a Civil War-era log cabin, an 1873 brick schoolhouse, the 1815 General Reasin A. Beall House and re-creations of a ladies' dress shop, firehouse, smokehouse, carriage house and general store.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
