Wayne County Historical Museum is at 546 E. Bowman St. (SR 585). The Kister Building displays changing exhibits, Native American artifacts, farm implements, carriages, and military items. On the grounds are a Civil War-era log cabin, an 1873 brick schoolhouse, the 1815 Beall Stibbs Homestead and re-creations of a ladies' dress shop, firehouse, smokehouse, carriage house and general store.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
