Youngstown Historical Center of Industry & Labor is at 151 W. Wood St. Exhibits chronicle the impact of the iron and steel industries upon Mahoning Valley communities. The museum's permanent exhibit explores labor, immigration and urban history using videos, photographs, reconstructed scenes and historic objects. Items displayed range from workers' tools and clothing to “last heats,” the final batches of steel produced at a mill before it closes. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Center $7; $3 (students with ID). Archives/library free. Rates may vary; phone ahead.
Hours: Center open Wed.-Fri. 10-4, Sat. noon-4. Archives/library open Wed.-Fri. noon-4 (also Thurs. 4-7 during YSU spring and fall semesters) and first and third Sat. of each month noon-4. Closed major holidays. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
