Greater Southwest Historical Museum is at 35 Sunset Dr. The museum’s main hall features an original 1895 log cabin along with reproductions of a courtroom, law office, school, post office, dentist's office, blacksmith shop and doctor’s office. One wing exhibits military memorabilia from the American Revolution through Operation Iraqi Freedom. The From the Ashes exhibit in the south wing recounts the city's great fire of 1895. Another wing houses carriages, an early electric car and a working model of an oil field.
