AAA Editor Notes
Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, 900 E. Oklahoma Ave., sits on the site originally intended for the state capitol building. The temple bought the land for $1, and a promise to administer “certain improvements,” after the state capital relocated to Oklahoma City. These improvements totaled more than $3 million and have created the Gothic, Egyptian, Victorian, Italian and Native American embellishments found within this Greek Revival building.
