Harn Homestead & 1889ers Museum is at 1721 N. Lincoln Blvd. near N.E. 16th St. The property was the former estate of William Fremont Harn, a land agent responsible for investigating claim disputes arising from the land run of 1889. The 10-acre homestead includes a modified 1904 Victorian-style farmhouse, outbuildings, historic gardens and the city's first two-story structure. A replica of the original cedar barn contains a rare indoor windmill that protrudes from the roof. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$5; $4 (ages 65+ and military with ID).
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9-2, July 5-Labor Day (1-hour guided tours at 9:30, 11 and 1); Mon.-Fri. 10-4, rest of year (1-hour guided tours at 11, 1:30 and 3). Closed major holidays.
