Martin Park Nature Center is 11 mi. w. of I-35 Memorial Rd. exit; enter at 5000 W. Memorial (south side) between Meridian and McArthur. The center's 140 acres of woodlands, prairies, creeks and pond provide a natural habitat for deer, squirrels, rabbits and more than 200 bird species. The visitor center contains exhibits about wildlife, plants and conservation. Self-guiding nature trails, some of which are accessible to wheelchairs, traverse the parkland; guided nature hikes and regular nature education programs also are offered.

Guided tours are available.

Outdoor park and trails open daily 5 a.m.-9 p.m., Apr.-Sept.; 5 a.m.-6 p.m., rest of year. Visitor center open Tues.-Wed. and Sun. 9-6, Thurs.-Sat. 9-8, Apr.-Sept.; Tues.-Sun. 9-6, rest of year. Guided nature hike by appointment. Allow 2 hours minimum.
