Shattuck Windmill Museum & Park is at jct. US 283 and SR 15. More than 60 vintage windmills and one wind generator have been reconstructed at this 4-acre park. The windmills were an important source of water for the area's early homesteaders and ranchers. In addition, a half-dugout soddy, an early farmhouse, a water wheel, and a general mercantile store, which is open for business, have also been moved to the site to serve as examples of life in the early 1900s.
Tuning in to a local radio frequency provides a taped message and anecdotes about the history of the windmills.
Guided tours are available. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.).
