Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge is 3 mi. s. on Refuge Rd.; its headquarters is e. off SR 78. The refuge covers 16,464 acres on the Upper Washita arm of Lake Texoma. It lies in the central flyway and functions primarily as a migratory waterfowl refuge.
Eagles, hawks, ducks, geese and pelicans are among the migratory birds found in the refuge; deer, bobcats and beavers also are residents. Limited fishing and hunting are permitted in designated sections.
Pets on leash are allowed. Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
