Tulsa Historical Society & History Museum, 2445 S. Peoria Ave. near Woodward Park, is in the renovated 1919 mansion built for Tulsa oil producer Samuel Travis. The Revival-style house has eight galleries dedicated to changing exhibits about the area's history. The Vintage Gardens, on the grounds, have paved walkways; outdoor statues, including the Five Moons, life-size depictions of Native American ballerinas from Oklahoma; and cornerstones and other architectural elements from former Tulsa buildings. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$5; $3 (ages 65+); free (ages 0-18 and students with ID).
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-4. Guided tours are available by appointment. Closed major holidays.
