Amherstburg Freedom Museum is at 277 King St. Amherstburg, at the narrowest crossing point on the Detroit River, and was the main entry point into Canada at the end of the Underground Railroad. Exhibits in the two-story museum, cultural center, a log cabin and the adjacent 1848 Nazrey African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church, a National Historic Site, examine African civilization, the slave trade, the migration of blacks to freedom in Canada and the contributions these freedom seekers made to their adopted country.

Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
