Rock Glen Conservation Area, 8680 Rock Glen Rd., reflects its location at a transition zone between the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence and the Carolinian Forest zones, offering abundant opportunities for fossil hunting. The 27-hectare (67-acre) recreation site includes lookouts above the 11-metre (36-ft.) falls, nature trails, boardwalks, and the Arkona Lions Museum and Information Centre, which has First Nations artifacts and fossils dating back 400 million years. Guided hikes are available. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.
$4 (per person in a private vehicle); $3.50 (per pedestrian).
Hours: Park open daily 9-dusk, Apr.-Oct. Museum daily 10-5, July-Aug.; Wed.-Mon. 10-5 in June; Sat.-Sun. noon-5, May and Sept.-Oct.; other times by appointment.
