Rock Glen Conservation Area, 8680 Rock Glen Rd., reflects its location at a transition zone between the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence and the Carolinian Forest zones, offering abundant opportunities for fossil hunting. The 27-hectare (67-acre) recreation site includes lookouts above the 11-metre (36-ft.) falls, nature trails, and the Arkona Lions Museum and Information Centre, which has First Nations artifacts and fossils dating back 400 million years. Picnicking is permitted.
$4 (per private vehicle); $3 (per pedestrian).
Hours: Park open daily 9-dusk, Apr.-Oct. Museum daily 10-5, July-Aug.; Sat.-Sun. noon-5, May-June and Sept.-Oct.; other times by appointment.
