Mountsberg Wildlife Centre, Hwy. 401 exit 312 to Guelph Line S., following signs, is a 472-hectare (1,166-acre) conservation area with an interpretive center and hiking, mountain biking and nature trails. Weekends and holidays the Douglas G. Cockburn Birds of Prey Centre offers live bird presentations. Maple syrup demonstrations are presented in March and April. An indoor play space for children, fishing, cross-country skiing, ice skating and horse-drawn wagon and sleigh rides are available. Picnicking is permitted.
$7.50; $6.50 (ages 65+); $5.25 (ages 5-14). Rates may vary during special events and during the fall-color season.
Hours: Park open daily 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m., June-Aug. 8:30- 7:30, Apr.-May and Sept.-Oct.; 8:30- 6:30, Feb.-Mar.; 8:30-5, rest of year. Closed Christmas.
