Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre is at 26 Bloor St. in Capreol. The museum, in the former CN Rail superintendent's home built in 1916, has artifacts, maps and photographs related to the railroading, lumbering and mining industries that were the area's main industries. A steam locomotive, a wooden and steel caboose, a snow plow, a box car house, a sectionmen's shed, a school car, a hot copper car, a baggage car and two electric locomotives are displayed outdoors. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$8; $7 (ages 55+ and students); $5 (ages 4-12).
Hours: Daily 10-4, May-Aug.; by appointment rest of year.
