AAA Editor Notes
McCrae House, 108 Water St., is the 1872 birthplace of Lt. Col. John McCrae, author of the poem “In Flanders Fields,” written in 1915 at the Second Battle of Ypres. Exhibits depict family history and McCrae's medical and military careers. A space for interactive and changing exhibits has video presentations about McCrae and World War I. The gardens have been restored to the 1850-80 time period.
