Haliburton Highlands Museum is 1 km (.6 mi.) w. off Hwy. 118 via Bayshore Acres Rd. to Museum Rd., following signs. The complex consists of a museum gallery with artifacts pertaining to the area's settlement; the 1882 Reid House, filled with furnishings of the late 19th and early 20th centuries; and several other buildings, including a settler's cabin, barn and a forge building.

Hours: Main gallery open Tues.-Sun. 10-5, Victoria Day-late Oct.; Sat.-Sun. 10-5 and by appointment, rest of year. Reid House open Tues.-Sun. 10-5, July 1-Labour Day; Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Victoria Day weekend-June 30 and day after Labour Day-second Mon. in Oct. Other buildings open Tues.-Sun. 10-4:30, July 1-Labour Day. Closed Jan. 1 and Christmas.
