John R. Park Homestead

John R. Park Homestead is 4 km (2.5 mi.) e. on CR 20, then s. on CR 50 to Iler Rd. to its end. The 1842 American Greek Revival house is the focal point of the estate, which re-creates the lifestyle of a 19th-century family. China, household items and period furniture are displayed. Outbuildings include an icehouse, a barn, a smokehouse, a blacksmith shop and a steam engine-powered sawmill. A theater offers audiovisual presentations. Seasonal special events are held. A nature trail and beach are available. Costumed staff demonstrate weaving, blacksmithing and cooking in summer.
