Murney Tower National Historic Site, in Macdonald Park at King West and Barrie sts., is a Martello tower built in 1846 as one of a series of coastal defenses. Now a museum, it houses a collection of historical archives and materials depicting 19th-century military life in Kingston.
$5; $4 (senior citizens, military and students with ID); free (ages 0-12); $12 (family).
Hours: Daily 10-5, mid-May through Labour Day.
