Banting House National Historic Site is at 442 Adelaide St. N. at jct. Queens Ave. Sir Frederick Banting conceived the idea that led to the discovery of insulin. Several rooms of the house in which he lived and practiced medicine 1920-21 are furnished in period, and displays depict the development of insulin and give information about Banting's achievements as Canada's first Nobel laureate, an accomplished artist and a recipient of the Military Cross.
