Markham Museum, 2.4 km (1.5 mi.) n. of Hwy. 7 to 9350 Hwy. 48, includes modern exhibit galleries and a 10-hectare (25-acre) historic village with restored houses, shops, rail stations and railway cars and an interactive “Hands-on House” log cabin. A land transportation building displays horse-drawn vehicles. Special events are offered throughout the year. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
$6; $5 (ages 65+ and high school students); $4 (ages 2-13); $16 (family of four, with maximum of two adults).
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 10-5, Sat.-Sun. noon-5, Victoria Day weekend-Labour Day; Tues.-Sun. noon-5, mid-Oct. through the day before Victoria Day weekend Some buildings may not be available in the off-season. Closed major holidays.
