Halton Region Museum is w. in the Kelso Conservation Area; take exit 320 n. off Hwy. 401 to Campbellville Rd., turn w. to Tremaine Rd. and go s. to Kelso Rd. to conservation area gates. At the edge of the Niagara Escarpment, the museum is on the site of the former 19th-century Alexander Homestead. The historic Alexander Trail winds through the complex of five buildings. Exhibits depict Halton's history and heritage.
Museum free. Conservation area gate fee (Apr.-Oct.) $6.75; $5.75 (ages 65+); $5 (ages 5-14).
Hours: Daily 10-6, mid-May through second Mon. in Oct.; Mon.-Fri. 8:30-4:30, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Good Friday and Christmas-Dec. 31.
