Niagara Historical Society Museum, 43 Castlereagh St., has displays about the town's role in the War of 1812 and its status as the one-time capital of Upper Canada. Included are military history exhibits, special collections and temporary exhibitions.

Hours: Daily 10-5, May-Oct.; 1-5, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Good Friday, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, day after Christmas and Dec. 31.
