AAA Inspector Notes
A traditional afternoon tea is served in the drawing room at this landmark 1864 hotel, which is convenient to theaters and shopping districts. The appointments at this property, from the ornate crown molding to the intricately patterned inlays in the lobby flooring to the Tiffany lamps in the guest rooms, are all designed with royalty in mind. Rooms are spacious and feature solid wood furnishings with a nod to the Victorian era in the decor style, yet contemporary amenities like flat-panel TVs and Bose entertainment systems provide all the comforts of the modern age. Smoke free premises. 110 units. 2-3 stories, interior/exterior corridors.

Pros: Location and area. Ambience. Style.
Cons: Thought for the price breakfast should be included.

Pros: The style and history of the main building is wonderful, service was very good, and hard to beat the excellent location. Plus the bed and linens were great.
Cons: Very disappointed with things like the floor grates/registers in the room that were extremely chipped/unsightly, what appeared to be mould on a bathroom wall, and carpet under the armoire that showed lots of dust (clearly not vacuumed). This was very unexpected at a hotel of this apparent quality - and price.

Pros: I really liked the vintage charm of the building. It's right in the center of town (which may be positive of negative, depending on your preference). Lobby & restaurants were beautiful, bed was comfortable & the hotel included great details like comfortable robes and turndown service.
Cons: Although the price of wales has "Vinatge" charm, I found many of the details were dated & poorly taken care of. There hallways looked kinda dirty, there were dings and scratches all over the walls in the hallways. We spent some time in the pool area and the railing to enter the pool was very wobbly. If I would have leaned hard on it, it may have broken. All in all the experience was nice but I would expect much finer details from a place that charges $200-$400 a night.

Pros: Front desk staff were very good.
Cons: One of the worst breakfasts I've ever had. Everything was ice cold except for a hot plate, that I assume was meant to warm all the cold items.
