Leacock Museum National Historic Site, e. off Hwy. 12B on Old Brewery Bay to 50 Museum Dr., is the 19-room Colonial-style mansion built in 1928 by one of Canada's best known humorists and authors. A national historic site, the museum contains many of his books, manuscripts, belongings and private papers. A reconstruction of the author's boathouse also is on the site. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$5; $4 (ages 65+); $3 (students with ID); $2 (ages 3-12); $12 (family, four members).
Hours: Daily 10-4, mid-May through Aug. 31; Mon.-Fri. 10-4, rest of year. Closed Christmas.
