AAA Editor Notes
Billings Estate National Historic Site, s. on Alta Vista to Pleasant Park, following signs to 2100 Cabot St., was built in 1828 by pioneer Braddish Billings. The neoclassical house, formerly called Park Hill, is on 3 hectares (8 acres) overlooking Ottawa and the Rideau River. Displays of furniture, textiles, photographs and other documents detail the history of the estate and the five generations of the Billings family that occupied it. Special events are offered on Sunday. Tea on the Lawn also is a highlight.
Picnicking is permitted.
