Canada Science and Technology Museum, 2.6 km (1.2 mi.) s. of the Queensway at 1867 St. Laurent Blvd., is devoted to the history, principles and applications of science and technology. The historical displays include steam locomotives, domestic appliances, antique automobiles and communications and space equipment. Canada's largest refracting telescope is among the featured hands-on exhibits. Tours of the storage facility are available. Special programs include workshops, stargazing and demonstrations. Note: The museum is closed for renovation until fall 2017; phone for updates. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
$12; $10 (ages 65+ and students with ID); $8 (ages 3-12); $30 (family, two adults and three children). A combined three-day pass with Canada Aviation and Space Museum and Canada Agriculture Museum is available. Parking: $1 per half hour ($6 maximum).
Hours: Daily 9-5, May 1-Sept. 1; Tues.-Sun. 9-5, rest of year. Closed five days in mid-Sept. for maintenance and Christmas.
