Canadian Museum of Nature, 240 McLeod St. at Metcalfe St. in the historic Victoria Museum Memorial Building, depicts a journey through nature from the vanished world of dinosaurs to the habitats of contemporary birds, mammals and plants. Displays include hands-on exhibits, a 62-foot blue whale skeleton, live creepy crawlies and 3D movies. Food is available.
$12.50; $10.50 (ages 13+, ages 65+ and students with ID); $8.50 (ages 3-12); free (Thurs. 5-8). Combination ticket with museum, special exhibition and 3D movie $22.50; $20.50 (ages 13+, ages 65+ and students with ID); $16.50 (ages 3-12). Parking: $2.50 per half hour ($12 maximum); $5 flat rate after 4:30 p.m.
Hours: Daily 9-6 (also Thurs.-Fri. 6-8 p.m.), June 1-Sept. 5; Tues.-Sun. and holiday Mon. 9-5 (also Thurs. and select Mon. 5-8), rest of year. Closed five days in early Jan., Christmas and day after Christmas. Schedule varies; phone ahead.
