This castle-like historic hotel could be a museum. To me, there are many interesting facts such as housing the very first indoor pool circa 1920s.
AAA Inspector Notes
The grand, circa 1912 hotel features a permanent photography exhibit in the lobby. The guest rooms vary in size, but all feature elegant beds and gorgeous headboards with convenient reading lights. In a distinctive location immediately beside the locks of the Rideau Canal, the landmark hotel exudes Canadian historical ambience. The lobby and other common areas display Old World detail and charm. Parliament Hill is just to the west, historic ByWard Market to the east and the U.S. Embassy across the street to the north. The 7-kilometer winter skating rink on the Rideau Canal is just a short walk from the hotel.
Smoke free premises. 426 units. 6 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).
