Peterborough Centennial Museum and Archives, 300 Hunter St. E., is on Armour Hill overlooking the lift lock. The Early Settlement and Pammett galleries depict the history of the First Nations, the early settlers and the 1825 Robinson Irish Migration. The Victorian Gallery looks at Peterborough's growth from frontier town to bustling city. The Heideman Gallery offers changing exhibits, and the archives contain original records, papers and other links to the past.
Donations. Admission may be charged during special events.
Hours: Museum open Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat.-Sun. and holidays noon-5. Closed Jan. 1, Good Friday and Christmas. Archives open by appointment.
