Secord undertook a perilous 31-kilometre (20-mi.) journey on foot to alert the British of an impending U.S. invasion. Because of her warning, the Americans were defeated at the Battle of Beaverdams 2 days later. The two-story frame cottage has been restored and furnished in period. Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
